We currently have a unique opportunity for a Business Development Manager to manage one of our London based panels. This is a panel that has great potential for a candidate who is enthusiastic to build on current business and look at ways to grow our offerings. This role will join our highly successful Pensions Distribution team on a 9-12 month Fixed Term Contact basis. Due to current growth within this team there may be future opportunities for this role to go permanent after 12 months for the correct candidate.

 

You will be remotely based but ideally living in the North West London area so you can meet with your panel 3-4 days per week to build relationships.

 

Role purpose

The main purpose of the role is to deliver agreed new business targets from a panel of Intermediaries in a manner that satisfies all regulatory and compliance responsibilities and meets our Corporate objectives.

 

 Key responsibilities

  • Deliver personal sales targets from a panel of Intermediaries
  • Develop new Intermediary relationships
  • Deliver sales presentations to Intermediaries promoting new and existing sales opportunities
  • Identify and promote new sales opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with panel Intermediaries
  • Ensure a smooth efficient and professional sales process for the customer
  • Work with Intermediaries to ensure an excellent and professional service is provided
  • Support and follow-up central sales campaigns and national Partnership events
  • Engage, align and work with appropriate colleagues and resources to maximise profitable new business production and to protect existing business
  • Comply with the Sales Process and Compliance reporting requirements

 

Essential Criteria

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Royal London’s propositions
  • Experience in Corporate and Individual pensions would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant competitor propositions
  • Previous experience in a similar role where you have managed a large panel of IFA’s and companies with multiple needs.
  • Confident in understanding of technology used by advisers including research and analysis systems, platforms etc.
  • Ability to discuss and debate industry issues, technical and legislative updates in a competent and influential manner
  • Commitment to achieve QCF Level 3,  RO4+ RO2 within 18 – 24 months  
  • Strong relationship building skills, both verbally and written communication
  • Full driving license

  • Competent navigation of NBIS
  • Take ownership of your own development by ensuring a clear and defined development plan
  • Supporting and follow-up central sales campaigns and national Partnership events
