About the role

 

We are seeking applications for a Senior Project Manager to deliver change projects which support the achievement of business strategy, effectively and efficiently.

 

The Senior Project Manager will join the Ireland Change & Technology team which is responsible for managing IT support activities and delivering both large and small change and within the business in collaboration with the group technology teams and external third parties.   

 

Your responsibility will be to ensure business outcomes are clearly understood and associated solutions are delivered to enable the business to realise benefits on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

 

The Senior Project Manager will have overall responsibility for planning and leading the delivery of the change lifecycle for projects covering both business and technical driven change.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that all projects and initiatives are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders, both in RL Ireland and wider Royal London Group (incl. GTC, Data Governance, and Procurement).

 

Criteria

 

  • Proven working experience in project management delivering both Business and Technical change initiatives in an insurance environment (Pensions or Protection preferable).
  • Experienced in dealing with stakeholders at varying levels (including senior leadership) within the business.
  • Experience of leading project teams with minimal support and supervision.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery practices.
  • Experience of working with external technology delivery partners and suppliers.
  • Experience of managing IT application development and a good understanding of the full development lifecycle from requirements to implementation.
