About the role

We are looking for a Change Assurance Risk Manager to join our high-performing Group Risk and Compliance Team in Edinburgh.


You will work with the Head of Change Risk as a trusted Second Line risk specialist. You will work with business leaders, providing advice, oversight and challenge on the effective operation of Change risk management processes across the Royal London UK Business.


Key responsibilities

  • Oversight and assurance for the management of risk within the UK Change portfolio and supporting sub-portfolios – including annual business/portfolio planning, governance, portfolio management, business case review and benefits delivery
  • Oversight and assurance for management of risk in key change programmes and projects through written and verbal contribution to governance fora
  • Oversight and challenge of operational risks in the change management function (inc. ePMO and change delivery practices)
  • Promote risk and control ownership within the business, acting as a key voice to embed risk management culture within functions
  • Provide oversight and advice to business management on the effective design and development of effective tools, models and processes to enable clear visibility of risks and performance of controls


  • Successful recent experience of working in an operational risk, Internal Audit or change management/change delivery environment
  • Understanding of change governance, management, planning and delivery across waterfall, agile and hybrid approaches. Experience as a Programme/Project manager or PMO an advantage
  • Understanding of process, risk and control management and assessment techniques, and how they can be applied to deliver outcomes for customers, regulators and the business
  • Proven communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently
