We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Cyber Engineer to join the Group Technology and Change (GTC) function, in our Wilmslow or Edinburgh office.

 

Role purpose

This is a specialised role which primarily involves developing and improving our Cloud Security capabilities. In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to develop and improve existing security technological controls, through to the research and implementation of industry specific cyber security technologies, standards and processes.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve Cloud Security capabilities
  • Develop Cloud and cyber security strategy
  • Work with Architecture to turn strategy into operational roadmaps and project plans
  • Provide cyber security expertise to lead and support security and business change portfolios
  • Ensure key business risks are fully understood, controlled and mitigated to ensure local plans are delivered and we meet regulatory requirements
  • Undertake product analysis
  • Design and implement security technologies to mitigate cyber risks in line with strategy
  • Provide 3rd line support operation

 

 Essential Criteria

  • Subject matter expert in Cloud Security, including multi-cloud environments
  • Experience in developing cyber security strategy
  • Low level expertise in SIEM, IPS, WAF, DLP, Identity & Data Management and Network Security technologies
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle and governance frameworks
  • Experience in security control operation and risk management
  • Security practices within a financial service provider
  • Risk and control management experience

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Expert level Cloud Security experience and certifications
  • Security certifications (e.g. CISSP / CISM)
  • Solution design skills
  • Hands on technical skills within technology function (e.g. IPS, DLP, Azure etc)
  • Experience of working with third party providers
