We currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Full Stack Engineer(.NET Developer) to join Royal London Group on a permanent basis in Edinburgh.

 

Role Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to design, develop, test and implement efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements (full life cycle engineering and product support)
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Product dependant technologies which may cover - .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Angular, TypeScript, SQL (database design, build)
  • Carries out impact assessment of complex changes to existing applications
  • Documents and agrees design in advance and to agreed standards. (Wikis, SharePoint docs)
  • All code meets Group standards, guidelines and quality gates for given technology
  • All code is thoroughly tested to ensure any issues are identified as early as possible, working closely with the test team. (.net/angular unit tests and integration tests)
  • Will safely implement solutions to production environment(s)
  • Collaborates closely with other members of the team
  • Contributes to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience
  • Develops complex solutions within own area of technical expertise

 

Essential Criteria

  • Technical knowledge of one or more programming languages- .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Angular, TypeScript, SQL (database design, build)
  • Can work without supervision – Being pro-active and solutioning problems without needing prompted
  • Ability to work as part of a team contributing effectively to their area
  • Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Awareness of agile development practices. (Kanban)
  • Familiar with automated testing techniques and frameworks (.net/angular unit tests and integration tests)
  • Cloud experience (Azure)
