An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an IT Software License Analyst to join our Group Technology and Change business on a permanent contract.

 

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage and optimise the purchase, deployment, and utilisation of Royal London’s software assets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimising software license usage – understanding models and advising on appropriate assignment
  • Liaising with IT staff to understand licensed software needs
  • Provision of detailed analysis, metrics and reporting on license usage
  • Research new license types and trends that may impact RLG
  • Assisting with software contract renewals

 

Essential Criteria

  • Good understanding of software licensing models and licensing terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft licensing for Visual Studio, Power BI and ADO
  • Experience of conducting internal reviews (audits) on software vendors
  • Service Desk and Software License Management tool experience (e.g. ServiceNow, Snow License Manager)
  • Good research skills and a detailed, meticulous, thorough approach to work
  • Solid problem solving and consultative skills required
  • Excellent attention to detail and can analyse and interpret data effectively in Excel and/or Power BI
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Cloud license management experience eg M365
  • Previous experience in IT environment, technical knowledge of AD (active directory) and SCCM
  • Good understanding of enterprise/ server estate configuration
