We have an exciting Permanent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Administrator to join the Group Technology & Change IT function in Edinburgh.

 The main purpose of this role is to provide specialist technical support for Windows 10 and to support end user computing across the group and to ensure the system is managed to the satisfaction of the business.


What will you be doing


  • Windows 7 and Windows 10 client management using Microsoft SCCM
  • Windows 10 configuration from factory shipped state using SCCM for configuration and self-service application delivery
  • Management of application delivery to Windows 10 clients
  • Technical lead for the rollout of Windows 10 across Windows 7 client estate
  • Day-to-day management of Windows 7 and Windows 10 client estate including troubleshooting issues
  • Ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business, managing incidents and service requests within SLA, reviewing breached calls and providing support out of hours
  • Ensure hardware and software is kept within supported levels
  • Fully document systems including DR procedures, recovery procedures, build procedures, call out logs, decision logs, maintenance procedures and fix knowledge base
  • Support the strategy and follow industry best practice
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in services and create appropriate utilities to manage the environment
  • Work with the Project Manager to agree timescales for deliverables and manage the change process



What we’re looking for

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, including systems security, patching and systems monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft SCCM for management of Windows 7 & 10 clients.
  • Strong knowledge of Office 2016 / Office 365
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory (GPO, OU, Groups)
  • Strong knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware Horizon View)
  • Experience with vRealize Operations Manager
  • Experience with Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring
  • Experience with application delivery using App-V, SCCM and self-service tools.
  • Experience with RSA SecurID Suite
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Scripting experience, ideally PowerShell
