We have an exciting Permanent opportunity for an experienced IT Technical Specialist to join the Group Technology & Change IT function in Edinburgh.


The main purpose of this role is to provide technical administration for our Skype and Video conferencing solution to ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business.


What will you be doing

  • Ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business, managing incidents and service requests within SLA, reviewing breached calls and providing support out of hours
  • Ensure hardware and software is kept within supported levels
  • Fully document systems including DR procedures, recovery procedures, build procedures, call out logs, decision logs, maintenance procedures and fix knowledge base
  • Support the strategy and follow industry best practice
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in services and create appropriate utilities to manage the environment
  • Work with the Project Manager to agree timescales for deliverables and manage the change process


What we’re looking for

  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services, ADFS, SSO and Azure AD
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange on premise and online.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite of products and services.
  • Knowledge Cisco VC endpoints
  • Knowledge of Virtualisation solutions preferably VMware.
  • Experience implementing performance dashboards
  • Management of 3rd party suppliers
  • PowerShell to automate complex and repetitive operations for support teams
  • Proven experience of design, delivery and transformation of UC environments
  • Service Improvement planning and execution
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose complex issues

Skills that will help you in the role

  • Experience in the design, implementation, transformation, troubleshooting and support UC technologies including VOIP,  collaboration tools, Audio/Video conferencing
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisation/project planning and change management skills
  • Comfortable assisting with Service Improvement planning and execution
