We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Developer to join our dynamic team in the Insurance industry. As a Lead Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying software applications and systems based on the needs of our customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

 

This role is influential in the delivery of cloud enabled initiatives, providing guidance and direction to other cloud engineers within the team. This role will work closely with Technical Leads and the Architecture function, providing SME experience to help shape road maps and high-level designs. The role will also have responsibilities around operational aspects of running a cloud platform.

 

The role contributes to our purpose to strengthening the mutual choice for our customers, by providing the best technology solutions, security, and operating model for our business.

 

About the role

 

  • Leads the development of complex technical solutions, managing own workload and that of the developers in the team.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to other software developers, proactively and reactively.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that all code meets Royal London Group standards, guidelines, and quality gates for given technology.
  • Encourages close collaboration with other disciplines within the team.
  • Manages dependencies with other teams.
  • Takes an active role on the transfer of knowledge and sharing of experiences relating to own area of technical expertise at practice level.

 

About you

 

  • Development experience in .Net, successfully delivering change on complex applications.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Can manage own workload whilst scheduling and allocating work to other developers.
  • Ability to support, coach and mentor others.
  • Able to communicate at all levels in an engaging and collaborative manner.
