Salary range - £50,000 - £76,000 dependant on skills and experience

 

Our new Group Transformation Team are growing and have opportunities for Project Managers in Edinburgh and Alderley Edge.

We deliver projects in key areas including Customer, Commercial and Enabling Functions and within our technical space – including Operational Resilience and Cyber projects. These are exciting opportunities to join a growing organisation and work on a variety of projects.

 

You will ensure business outcomes are clearly understood and associated solutions are delivered to enable the business to realise benefits on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. Solutions may involve change to any of business process, operating model, application, infrastructure, and third-party services.

 

You will be part of a Project Management practice offering support, development, and the chance to influence how delivery is done.  

 

About the role

 

  • Appling best project management practice to one or more initiatives within a portfolio
  • Providing leadership to the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more mid-size initiatives simultaneously
    • Articulates and demonstrates business acumen around cost and the impact on profitability in relation to project change and BAU impact following implementation
    • Define and agree required level of project resource needed for successful project delivery, taking account of availabilities, scheduling to avoid bottlenecks and conflicting demands enabling efficient realisation of benefits
    • Implement appropriate level of Governance in-line with Group methods. Management of all key project controls e.g. Status reporting, dashboards
    • Managing & understanding the impact of project dependencies​
    • Cost control on the project and understanding the impact this has on Group-wide financial performance and value to the customer​
    • Managing risks and issues, understanding a wider risk context associated with the business and the delivery and adhering to policies, procedures and controls associated with risk management ​
    • Producing documentation that is effective and precise and meets the audience requirements ​
  • Promoting continuous improvement - share skills, knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Defining clear and succinct messaging across multiple audiences and expediting activity ​
  • Building a collaborative, commercial relationship with 3rd parties to manage costs and maximise value​
  • Managing the delivery and cost controls associated with external delivery partners relationships 
  • Working with others across the project to drive commercial awareness and accountability​

 

About you

 

  • Experience of leading project teams, building and maintaining the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of others throughout the change initiative to ensure continued
  • The ability to solve and unblock issues within teams or departments
  • An adaptable approach to communicating across all levels in Royal London ​
  • The skills to build consensus between organisations or highly independent and diverse stakeholders. 
  • Proactivity and future thinking around the management and control of project costs and benefits
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
