As the Sales Development Consultant you will promote the Royal London protection brand through proactive telephone contact to intermediaries where there is limited or no existing sales relationship with RLG. You will identify new business opportunities for the RLG brand and follow through on Sales and National Partnership campaigns and events by making proactive telephone contacts to promote the protection brand.

What will you be doing

  • Use MI effectively to target appropriate intermediary accounts and make contact with intermediary accounts to build relationships via the telephone.
  • Promote the Royal London Protection proposition effectively using own knowledge and web based systems to your panel.
  • Ensure that appropriate leads are sense checked and passed to correct Sales or National Partnerships Team to allow them to follow up.
  • Follow through on Events and Campaigns for Sales Team and National Partnerships Team following a contact plan for Event or Campaign.
  • Provide excellent service to intermediaries ensuring all information provided is correct and relationships maintained via telephone contact.

What we’re looking for

  • RO1, RO3 and RO5 preferable, or willing to achieve these in a 24 month timeframe
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with new and existing panels.
  • Experience in business to business sales or supporting the sales function working with their panels to ensure consistent communication and relationship building.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills

Skills that will help you in the role

  • Experience within a pensions or protection or Financial Service environment
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Royal London proposition and products
  • Polite telephone manner with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
