We currently have an exciting opportunity to bring onboard a Solution Architect to join Royal London Group on a permanent basis in Edinburgh or Nether Alderley.

 

Role purpose

The Solution Architect in their Digital and Customer Engagement domain will support projects and programmes. The requirement is to work closely with the Business and Analysts to crystallise requirements; assist the Full Stack Architects in writing architecture documents for projects; and guiding the development and testing teams through delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Full Stack Architect in understanding digital strategy papers and taking them to the next level of detail for architecture and design.
  • Writing architecture and design documents and carrying them through architecture governance process in Royal London.
  • Presenting solutions at design forums and to stakeholders.
  • Working with business stakeholders and business analysts on understanding business requirements and converting them into design specifications for development teams and agile squads.
  • Carrying projects and agile sprints through development, testing and delivery.
  • Working with project managers and scrum masters through the project delivery lifecycles.
  • Liaising with teams such as Security, Compliance and Financial Crime to ensure designs being produced are compliant and in line with regulation and standards.
  • Future technologies will include Mobile Apps, Chatbots, AI/ML, Azure Cloud Apps

 

Essential Criteria

  • Strong Technical design and Digital architecture understanding and skills.
  • Recent experience in solution architecture role with digital, cloud and EAI arenas.
  • End2End design of cost-effective, innovative, scalable, and maintainable enterprise application solutions
  • Knowledge of one or more common application technology stacks (e.g., Microsoft .NET application technology stack)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of industry trends related to digital technology domain.
  • Strong and proven communication of technical information to all levels of the organisation and presentation skills.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working closely with third parties and suppliers.
  • Understanding of operating and commercial models and processes that can wrap around technologies.
  • Good knowledge of architecture frameworks, trends, and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of package-based solutions/enterprise application integrations
  • In depth knowledge of one or more common application technology stacks (e.g., Microsoft .NET application technology stack)
