RLAM is recruiting a Responsible Investment Analyst based in our London office. You will be a core member of the Responsible Investment team which is going through an exciting period of growth and innovation.

Reporting to the Senior Responsible Investment Analyst, your priorities will be to provide support to Front Office teams in undertaking company engagement projects, integrating ESG issues into investment decision-making, producing thought-leadership work, conducting screening and ESG analysis for the Sustainable Funds, and timely maintenance of records for internal teams and clients. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in developing and leading engagement projects in collaboration with Fund Managers and with projects undertaking company engagement projects with knowledge of social issues.


Key Accountabilities

  • To contribute to the RLAM strategy of above average performance as a Responsible investor
  • To successfully deliver engagement projects with a focus on social and governance topics
  • To contribute to the investment performance of RLAM funds through providing high quality, in-depth ESG risk analysis and portfolio reviews
  • To support Front Office teams in implementing ESG integration across all asset classes
  • Provide bespoke ESG research and engagement plans/suggestions/strategies to Front Office RI and investment team
  • Contribute to new business (or retain existing business) of other funds across RLAM
  • Research, analysis and ongoing monitoring of the investment universe for the Sustainable Funds
  • Produce communications and marketing material to the sales and investment teams
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with the equity and fixed income fund managers, as well as the marketing, sales, client relations and PR teams
  • Reflect the company’s core values through demonstrating positive behaviours in relation to your objectives and all stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of your own development by ensuring that you have a clear and defined development plan that you continually review and work towards.
  • Day to day activities performed in line with Tier 1 policies and department procedures
  • Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit reports do not identify any significant risks/control weaknesses


Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing projects
  • Professional experience, academic or other demonstrable background on social issues
  • Positive Attitude
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines with competing priorities
  • Quick learner and ability to process and understand information quickly
  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong data and quantitative analysis skills
  • Team player willing to collaborate to solve problems
  • Ability to self-motivate, set priorities and know when to ask questions


Essential Criteria

  • Experience undertaking company ESG research and engagement, either within an investment, legal or corporate consulting role
  • Undergraduate level education or relevant professional qualifications
  • Proven research and analysis skills


Desirable Criteria

  • Financially literate or with a financial qualification (IMC or similar)
