Role Purpose

The responsibility of this role is to deliver business results in line with the Business plan, by application of data science for advising senior marketing managers on planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns to meet business targets in line with Royal London’s strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce answers to complex marketing questions by working with stakeholders and SMEs across all areas and levels of the consumer business.
  • Present findings to senior marketing decision makers both orally and using dashboards and/or visualisations to maximise ease of understanding and correct interpretation.
  • Nurture a more data driven approach to decision making by scoping and guiding the establishment of an advanced analytics capability and gradually integrate this within the current operational environment.
  • Build maintain & develop predictive analytical models to improve targeting and forecasting & when appropriate migrate any externally sourced capabilities in-house.
  • Perform analysis of the end-to-end customer journeys, attributing marketing efforts to user outcomes, providing actionable insight that helps drives change within the business. 

 

Essential Criteria

  • BSc level degree in numerate/scientific/computing discipline.
  • Experience of distilling data into insight and being able to present it to non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience of applying data analytics to solve business problems.
  • Understanding marketing channels and techniques for evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Strong communication skills and diplomatic approach to managing relationships with in-house and external partners.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with analytical software, e.g., SAS or R
