We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our highly regarded Group Legal Team. This role will complement a team of in-house lawyers who provide strategic legal advice, guidance, and support across the Royal London Group.

 

In this role you will use your skills and knowledge to undertake a range of legal activities, collaborating and developing key relationships with colleagues across the Royal London Group.

 

About the role

 

  • Act as Legal Counsel responsible for proactive provision of legal services, best market practice advice and guidance to the Royal London Group, predominantly in relation to outsourcing arrangements and other commercial contracts.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and conclude a range of documentation relevant to the wide variety of work you are involved in.
  • Work as part of a greater team on cross- departmental and strategic projects, as well as key regulatory initiatives.
  • Support the provision of cost-effective legal services. Take responsibility for outsourced legal advice, challenge where appropriate and interpret and communicate external legal advice in a commercial and strategic manner for the Royal London Group.

 

About you

 

  • Qualified Solicitor from a Common Law jurisdiction.
  • Strong experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Experience working in the Financial Services sector with an understanding of the relevant regulations preferable.
