Role purpose

We are currently looking to recruit a Business Planning Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis in either Edinburgh or Nether Alderley. The main purpose of the role is to collate and analyse information to identify root causes, detail findings and recommend suitable actions that continuously improve process, product, service and propositions failures.


Key responsibilities

  • Support the Strategic Planning and Reporting Manager in the production of the Group Operation 5 year Business Plan, leading any work streams as required.  This will also include writing parts of the plans and proactively identifying and consolidating information from across the business and negotiating within business areas.
  • Support the Strategic Planning and Reporting Manager in the creation of capacity plans built for all Servicing teams, with a clear link to the Business Plan and bridge to tactical forecasts, working with the Resource Planning Team.
  • Produce Management Information supporting the Strategic Planning and Reporting Manager to monitor performance against the Business Plan assumptions.
  • Create quality reporting and insight that analyses relevant data from across the Group, Outsource Service Providers, Financial Ombudsman Service feedback and FCA complaint returns to identify root causes for complaints, making recommendations where appropriate to continuously improve product, service and proposition in customer outcomes and experiences, through the focus on Root Cause Analysis which also supports the risk and governance framework.


Essential Criteria

  • Excellent business planning, forecasting and budgeting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw out key messages from analysis.
  • Understanding of data processes, solutions, and how these can be used to track performance.
  • Up to date industry knowledge, including regulatory and other external changes.
  • Experience working with a regulated environment


Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with Financial Services previously.
