About the role

As Head of Business Intelligence (BI) Products you will be responsible for connecting the holistic capabilities of the Group Data Office to enable the business drive effective data-led decisions through high quality data products and insights. You will take a leading role to define, design and realise data and insights that inform corporate strategy development, to monitor trading performance and customer outcomes. The role combines strategy, proposition development, analysis and technology expertise with disciplined project management competencies.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with senior business stakeholders to understand business priorities and goals and elicit requirements and opportunities for new data products
  • Ensure business areas are equipped to make decisions locally using trusted data and insights; develop and manage an enterprise marketplace for BI products
  • Establish and run a successful business intelligence Tribe (multi-disciplinary, matrixed team), applying an iterative delivery model to release value incrementally
  • Provide thought leadership in the use of data to drive short-term and long-term decision-making
  • Measure and monitor commercial return from data products
  • Specify business requirements for tooling and technology platforms (principally the Enterprise Data Platform) to enable effective and efficient build and deployment of data products
  • Identify, measure, manage, and monitor all emerging risks from BI and analytics


  • Demonstrable background in data and insight leadership
  • Experience in data or digital product management (cradle to grave)
  • Experience of strategy development and presenting to senior stakeholders (Group Exec level)
  • Good understanding of regulations/legislation within the financial services market; ideally Life and Pensions
