About the role
The Investment Office Analyst will be responsible for oversight, and assessment of our asset managers across investment performance, operations, responsible investment, and climate change aspects.
This offers the successful candidate the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of activities such as data analysis, management reporting, working with cross functional teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.
You’ll be part of a high performing, highly collaborative team delivering expertise and insight to help deliver Royal London’s investment strategy, ensuring we deliver desired outcomes across our investment propositions. You will gain valuable exposure to ESG targets by assessing and reporting on factors impacting our investments.
The Investment Office team sits within Group Finance and is responsible for delivering to the Group’s investment philosophy and beliefs, including setting, and executing the Group’s investment strategy, appointing, and overseeing asset managers across and selected execution activity over c.£105bn of investment assets on behalf of our customers and members.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor, assess, and drive insight across asset manager performance, including operational capabilities, customer outcomes, and environment, social and governance (ESG) targets, in line with our Asset Manager Oversight frameworks
- Support the selection, ongoing assessment and due diligence of Royal London’s asset managers and investment portfolios, through analysis and assessment of their Philosophy, Processes, People & Performance
- Support the planning, execution, and oversight of investment activity
- Deliver investment analysis and insight to drive forward key investment initiatives and provide support in relation to investment matters to the Group’s investment governance committees
- Contribute more broadly to the team’s activities, including in respect of the setting of investment strategy and development of strategic initiatives to deliver this
Criteria
- Background in Financial Services in a similar role or in Investment Operations
- Knowledge of investment funds, preferably across different investment vehicles, with an understanding of asset management activity, mandates, and fund operations
- Ability to interrogate, analyse and assess data, using platforms such as MSCI, Bloomberg, AssetQ, PowerBI, Tableau is desirable
- Ability to produce high quality, succinct written investment reports, driven by insight
- Collaborative working ethos, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to adapt across key Investment Office disciplines
