About the role

 

We are looking for a Programme Manager to join the Group Transformation Change function on a permanent basis. This role can be based out of either our Alderley Edge or Edinburgh office.

 

The Programme Manager is the Business representative for change within the organisation, acting as a single point of contact with the project and change teams in the business area for the day-to-day management of their interests. Responsible for ongoing management to ensure that desired programme/portfolio outcomes and objectives are delivered.

 

This is an exciting time to join Royal London Change which now sits in our newly created Chief Transformation Office (CTO). You will become a Senior member of the transformation function and face into members of our Group Executive Committee (GEC).

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Initiate and set goals for programme according to the strategic objectives of the organisation
  • Develop and gain approval for business case and budgets
  • Plan the programme from start to completion covering scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, issues, assumptions, governance and quality assurance requirements
  • Define and agree required level of programme resource needed for successful project delivery
  • Supervise all project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
  • Managing the integration of programme outcomes/benefits into business as usual addressing the readiness of users, compatibility of work systems and the realisation of benefits

 

Criteria

 

  • Thorough understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
  • Highly effective in dealing with major suppliers and Exec Level stakeholders
  • Expert in all areas of risk management
  • Expert level planning and scheduling skills, ensuring the complex activities of interrelated project and BAU teams are controlled
  • Proficient leadership, organisational, delegation and team building skills for the effective management across large business change programmes
  • Expert networking, presentation and negotiating skills as well as proven strategic thinking and communication ability
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills able to excel at influencing customer/client situations and supplier negotiations
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate a vision/strategy effectively

Our Alderley Park office is situated in 400 acres of natural parkland, based 2.2 miles south of Alderley Edge and 6.5 miles from Macclesfield in our newly refurbished site.
