About the role

We are currently looking for a Reward partner to join our either our Nether Alderley or London team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Performance and Reward Director, the primary purpose of the role is to be a key contributor to the Group Reward strategy by designing, managing, communicating and evaluating policies and processes that enable the specific delivery of Compensation, Benefits and Performance Management.


You will lead as a subject matter expert to People Partners, management and executive stakeholders on all elements of the Reward & Performance agenda.


Key responsibilities

  • Develops proposals for cost effective reward strategy that help to attract, retain and motivate employees of the calibre required by RL and is aligned to the overall people strategy.
  • Develop an effective performance management strategy that aligns individual and business performance, stretches and develops individuals, and ultimately drives higher levels of business performance year on year.  Aligned to the overall people strategy.
  • Oversees the provision of Royal London’s benefit (excluding pensions) and benefits proposition, including supplier management, communications and employee engagement.
  • Development of proposals for cost effective reward schemes/systems that help to attract, retain and motivate employees of the calibre required by RL. Looks beyond existing methodologies.
  • Serves as an expert within the Group on both Reward and Performance related matters, with a good understanding of other disciplines within the People function
  • Plans and designs the Group’s annual pay and STIP review process. Project manages roll-out of pay review process.
  • Complete continuous research & analysis to ensure Royal London remains market competitive from a reward perspective.
  • Provide support to the Performance and Reward Director.



  • Significant experience within a professional human resources environment and developing and implementing reward and performance programmes at all levels.
  • Expert knowledge of Reward schemes, Benefits and Performance Management.
  • Knowledge and experience within a Financial Services or regulatory environment.
  • A good understanding of executive renumeration and deferred compensation desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complicated concepts in a concise way to a wide range of people.
  • High level of analytical skills, numeracy and literacy.
  • Engaging with high level of consulting skills.
  • Ability to be able to separate the principle from the process.
  • PC Skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors is desirable.
