Role purpose

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join the Financial & Regulatory Reporting team in Nether Alderley. This is a high-profile role where you will oversee the preparation of statutory accounts across the Group including managing the Group Annual Report & Accounts (ARA), interim reporting and consolidation processes, working with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.  

 

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding and challenging the reported results in order to articulate a clear story in all aspects of reporting – both in Audit Committee and Board reporting and supporting the external messaging in the Group Annual Report & Accounts and press releases.
  • Oversee the preparation of committee reports to Audit Committee and Board of an appropriate standard and take responsibility for the production and review process of the reports through to submission to Company Secretarial.
  • Support the Head of Financial & Regulatory Reporting in improving the control environment surrounding the Group ARA, subsidiary statutory accounts, Interim Results and UK GAAP consolidation processes, improving the quality of the reporting process and in embedding the Financial Reporting Data and Controls Framework.
  • Leading a team of c.5 colleagues.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified accountant with experience of working in large or complex businesses.
  • Extensive experience of IFRS and UK GAAP for financial services entities.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Significant experience of preparation and/or auditing of financial statements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven success in influencing senior leaders in a large financial services business.

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and work experience of the life insurance industry and insurance accounting.
