We now have an exciting opportunity for Risk Managers to join the Risk & Compliance team in either Edinburgh or Wilmslow.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the team of L&P Risk analysts ensuring the planning, oversight and delivery of risk management activities within L&P Functions to ensure accordance with the Royal London Group Risk Management System. As part of the Life and Pensions Risk Team, you will support the Senior Risk Consultants and L&P Risk Director in ensuring that we embed and progress our approach to risk management across all functions.

What will you be doing

  • You will manage and oversee the support, advice and guidance on risk and control management activities within L&P Functions.
  • Collate monthly/quarterly operational risk MI and report for L&P Functions, e.g. root cause analysis of risk events, maintain and develop KRIs; review KRI information and include in risk reporting.
  • You will participate in the identification, analysis (including probability, impact and mitigating actions) and recording of new operational and financial risks.
  • You will provide advice to L&P functions regarding risk event reporting and incident escalation. Ensuring that the group requirements are met and that activities are co-ordinated to ensure timely closure of events. Report on progress on events via the regular risk reporting cycles.

What we’re looking for

  • You will have previous recent experience of working in an operational risk environment and
  • You will be able to demonstrate an understanding or process, risk and control management and assessment techniques, and how they can be applied to deliver outcomes for customers, regulators and the business
  • Understanding of the L&P business and the industry, and the associated legislative and regulatory environment.
  • You will have experience of managing technical teams
