Our Commercial function works in partnership with the rest of the business to deliver revenue targets, set pricing for products, and design and deliver investment solutions.
We also ensure our longstanding customers continue to receive good outcomes, along with developing and implementing the strategy for both our annuities business and our data vision. All this is underpinned by an effective control environment that is tested and supported by a designated team within the function.
Our teams
The Distribution team is responsible for our UK business sales and associated revenue delivery primarily through intermediaries. The team is focused on broadening our reach and deepening our relationships to grow sustainably, in line with our Group strategy.
The Underwriting and Claims team designs and maintains protection propositions that result in efficient customer journeys, generates appropriate and profitable risk-based outcomes, and makes sure we pay out when customers need us.
The Product Commercials team makes and supports commercial decisions, sharing data-driven insight on the customer value and profitability of our propositions.
The Annuities team is responsible for developing and implementing an effective strategy for our annuities business.
The Longstanding Customers team is focused on continuing to provide good outcomes for customers from our legacy businesses.
The Investment Solutions team balances risk, returns, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) elements to design, maintain and promote market-leading investment solutions that deliver compelling customer outcomes.
The Data Office is accountable for delivering a roadmap of data initiatives aligned to our business priorities so that we truly become a data-led organisation.
The Business Control function includes a Control Testing team that improves risk and control maturity across the Group. It also has a Business Quality team that delivers commercial and conduct oversight of our distribution partners.
