Our business focuses on aligning colleagues, applications and projects with our three value streams: Long-Term Savings, Protection & Equity Release, and Long-Standing Customers & Annuities. These roles form part of the Long-Term Savings value stream.
A Test Manager is required to manage and co-ordinate test activities across complex change deliveries, involving multiple teams and applications, in line with business priorities, technical roadmaps and broader strategic goals. To build and enhance test capabilities for the value stream, in relation to people, processes and technology, including recruitment, line management, test strategy and test automation.

- We are forming new testing capability in our Alderley Park office to deliver and maintain a new technology solution which will support our financial product offering.

About the Role
- Define and own the test strategy for the value stream.
- Accountable for ensuring test governance in line with the defined strategy for all programmes and projects under the value stream.
- Manage test teams (internal and/or third-party), ensuring clear allocation of responsibilities and alignment with delivery timelines.
- Collaborate and build trusting relationships with Technical Leads, Principal Engineers, Programme Managers, CIOs and other key stakeholders.
- Provide holistic reporting on testing, risks, and issues within the value stream programmes and projects to senior stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement in testing practices, tools, and automation, using key test metrics to drive the improvements roadmap.
- Recruitment and onboarding of test resources, including interim and permanent roles
- Line management of permanent roles and oversight of third-party roles.
About You
You will have:
- proven experience in test management across large-scale programmes, ideally including system migrations and major upgrades.
- a strong understanding of testing methodologies and highly skilled in the test discipline.
- proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- proven experience of enhancing test capabilities and delivering strategic improvements.
- detailed understanding of performance optimisation and ensuring security and compliance using Azure tools.
- significant experience of recruiting and managing test teams, including coaching and mentoring.
