About the Role:

 

Royal London Ireland is seeking applications for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Dublin.

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the company’s business planning and financial reporting processes.

 

Working as part of a small team which reports directly to the CFO, this role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to a broad range of Finance processes, including the development of the annual business plan and production of the annual financial reporting. The role will also provide the opportunity to interact with senior stakeholders across the business.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Support the annual financial planning and cyclical forecasting processes, including preparation of cost budgets in conjunction with key senior stakeholders
  • Responsible for monitoring of, and accurate reporting on, the cost base of the business to ensure that expenditure is appropriate and in line with budgets
  • Key role in the annual reporting processes including the preparation of financial statements and SFCR and supporting the external audit process.
  • Support the performance reporting for the business including the production of management information for use within the Finance team, by senior management and at Group level
  • Interpret financial information and deliver insightful analysis
  • Support and engage in ad hoc projects as required e.g., new system implementations, business cases, new products etc.

 

Criteria

 

  • Qualified Accountant with relevant post-qualification experience, ideally within insurance
  • Audit background; Big 4 training in financial services sector a distinct advantage
  • A proactive, detailed mindset with strong analytical skills
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop strong relationships within the Finance team and with Group peers and senior management
