We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic management and oversight of health and safety across Royal London. You will establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the health and safety management system to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements and achieve ISO45001.

About the role
As the Subject matter expert for all areas of H&S, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, landlords, managing agents, and enforcement authorities, to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing assurance that H&S risk is being effectively managed and statutory requirements are being met.
- Managing and mentoring a team of 3 Health and Safety Advisers to ensure effective and competent H&S cover throughout the Group.
- Supporting construction projects (CDM) and other small works.
- Creating and delivering a comprehensive DSE Assessment approach, supporting complex cases, neurodiversity, disabilities, and long-term health conditions.
- Advising and supporting the senior leadership team on H&S matters to ensure their legal understanding.
- Managing and reporting health and safety performance.
About you
- Experience in strategic health and safety management in a multi-site office environment.
- Experience in H&S leadership, and ideally previous experience of line management responsibility.
- Experience in the design and delivery of a positive health and safety culture to reduce workplace risks.
- Experience managing related contracts/agreements for the provision of health and safety services and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Educated to NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent (or evidence of working towards).
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (or working towards)
