Join Us as a Product Commercials Lead – Long-Term Savings

 

We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially-minded leader to join our Product Commercials Team at Royal London, focusing on our Long-Term Savings portfolio (Workplace, Individual, ISA). This is a high-impact role within a small, agile team, offering significant exposure across the business and a chance to shape the future of our product commercials.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

As Product Commercials Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in:

 

  • Driving Pricing, Forecasting & Reporting: Lead the commercial oversight of our long-term savings products, ensuring pricing strategies, forecasts and reporting align with business goals and deliver value.
  • Transforming How We Work: Streamline processes, introduce dynamic pricing approaches, and bring internal and external insight to the forefront of decision-making within the product commercials team.
  • Leading Strategic Programmes: Take ownership of the commercials for major initiatives including M&A, migration, and re-platforming, ensuring commercial rigour and strategic alignment.
  • Building Influence Across the Business: Establish a strong network and presence with senior leaders across distribution, product development, delivery, finance, and brand.
  • Coaching Future Leaders: Mentor and develop a small team of technicians and actuaries, helping them grow into future leaders in their field.

 

 

You’ll Also Be Responsible For

 

  • Monthly and quarterly reporting for Finance, Trading Committee, PPAC, and external disclosures.
  • Supporting assumption changes and new business impact analysis for TRC papers.
  • Ensuring commercial metrics (OKRs) are understood and embedded across change teams.
  • Analysing distributor profitability and informing sales targeting and commission strategies.
  • Enhancing pricing capability and defining pricing philosophy and principles.
  • Supporting capacity modelling and its integration into business planning.
  • Leading financial investigations and scenario modelling using expert judgement.
  • Ensuring alignment between business and finance in the Business Plan process.
  • Understanding and addressing cost segmentation and its impact on reported commercials.

 

 

About You

 

  • A recognised pricing and commercial expert with deep knowledge of life products and market dynamics.
  • Strong planning, investigative and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable influencing at senior levels and presenting complex insights clearly.
  • A qualified actuary with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative drivers.
