We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development focused Project Manager to join our Edinburgh office working within our brand-new flagship pensions platform Think Beyond.

Within this role you will own an area of functionality as a squad lead and be instrumental in driving forward large-scale software focused transformations, with clear ownership within your area of expertise.

Due to the nature of the role, a background within financial services or Pensions would be highly beneficial

About the role

  • Lead a squad within a complex and highly structured organisation, driving forward transformation projects across the software arena.
  • Provide leadership to the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Articulate and demonstrate business acumen around cost and the impact on profitability
  • Define and agree required level of project resource needed for successful project delivery
  • Manage risks and issues, understanding a wider risk context associated with the business and the delivery
  • Build a collaborative, commercial relationship with 3rd parties to manage costs and maximise value
  • Implement appropriate level of Governance in-line with Group methods
  • Cost control on the project and understanding the impact this has on Group-wide financial performance and value to the customer 

 

About you

 

  • A strong proven background of delivering large scale Software Development focused projects within a matrix style organisation
  • Working experience in project management delivering both business and technical change initiatives
  • Experience of Agile delivery practices
  • Knowledge of the full Software Development Delivery Lifecycle
  • The ability to solve and unblock issues within teams or departments
  • The skills to build consensus between organisations or highly independent and diverse stakeholders
  • Proactivity and future thinking around the management and control of project costs and benefits
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Experience of leading project teams, building and maintaining the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of others
