We seek an experienced Scrum Master to join our Data Transformation Delivery team. This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, who is willing to take a pragmatic approach and has specific experience in managing projects where the Project is Agile while adhering to internal Governance that follows the Waterfall model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum events (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, etc.) and ensure adherence to Agile principles.
- Implement and manage hybrid methodologies, combining Scrum and Kanban to optimise workflow and project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and remove impediments that slow down value delivery, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Take initiative to address wider systemic issues, opportunities, and dependencies that maximize effort and delivery while minimising waiting and waste.
- Utilize Kanban boards to visualise work, manage tasks, and track progress.
- Partner with the Product Owner to help prioritize the Product Backlog based on value to maximise business outcomes. Assist the Scrum team in creating high-value products efficiently, focusing on reducing waste and technical debt.
- Address issues that impact the team and slow down value delivery by supporting effective practices.
- Facilitate transparent communication by ensuring clear and timely exchanges between the team and stakeholders. Manage updates, clarify priorities, and address obstacles to maintain alignment and efficiency.
- For hybrid waterfall/agile scenarios work closely with the Project Manager to establish best hybrid configurations for task flow and execution.
About You:
- You have strong people leadership skills, with the ability to demonstrate both directive and supportive leadership behaviours, inspire and engage people, and build trusting relationships.
- You have a strong delivery focus, demonstrated through building clarity and engagement in the overall goal and maintaining momentum.
- You possess strong relationship and stakeholder management skills with a desire to partner and collaborate to solve business issues.
- You are highly proactive, with strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
- You have experience in scaled Agile delivery and active Scrum mastering in a hybrid environment.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online collaboration tools
- Experience or willingness to learn Power BI and ADO technology is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a finance institution or similar industry.
- Hands-on experience with hybrid project management approaches.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is preferred.
