Royal London is seeking a Senior Front-end Developer to join the Design Team as we accelerate our customer, adviser and employer experience transformation and reimagine our digital services.

As a Senior Front-End Developer, you will join a dedicated team with likeminded colleagues passionate about providing exceptional experiences and helping ensure our customers get the best possible outcomes.

The role’s primary focus is on development and maintenance of Royal London’s enterprise-wide Design System and supporting several multi-disciplinary product squads with adoption of the system.

About the role

• Provide extensive business and deep technical expertise to help teams design, develop, test and implement efficient front-end solutions.
• Development and maintenance of Royal London’s enterprise-wide Design System.
• Support other multidisciplinary agile squads, collaborating with them to bring about the rapid adoption of the Design System amongst their products and the wider business. 
• Contributes to the development and delivery of Royal London’s Design System, ensuring conformance with set standards including accessibility and select front end frameworks.
• Ensure all code is thoroughly tested to meet our standards, guidelines, and quality gates for given technologies.

About you

• Strong understanding of web and accessibility standards.
• Knowledge and experience of the Design System platform is essential.
• Excellent understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Deep technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
• Expert knowledge on HTML5, CSS, JS.
• Familiar with UI and JS frameworks including Bootstrap, Material Design, Angular, Typescript.
