We are delighted to announce we are recruiting for a Protection Proposition Technical Manager within the Protection Proposition team at Royal London.

This role provides technical expertise together with insight and analysis to support the design of product/proposition and their supporting literature, technical documents, and marketing communications. 

Key to this role will be the technical design and development of supporting documents and literature, including maintaining and reviewing existing material to ensure consistency and technical/legislative accuracy.  An in-depth knowledge of Government, regulatory and protection market positioning will be key to enabling Royal London to engage effectively with customers, advisers, and key stakeholders.  

About the role

• Draft and design of technical literature and documents and provide technical sign off for new and existing documents and communications.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of RL and competitors’ products/propositions across protection market including supporting documents and literature.
• Technical training for colleagues to ensure knowledge is shared and supports competency of the team and reputation of RL Protection in the market.
• Support and provide insight to help inform the creation of RL Protection strategy and supporting papers for governance groups (e.g. PPC, PSG, RLIM, GEC, Board).
• Assessment of how industry developments (legislative/regulatory/market/ competitor) impact RL Protection propositions/documents/communications.
• Set up and maintain fact base of markets, products, competitors, customers, legislation, and regulation to produce a regular stream of insight and outputs internally (to the squads) and externally (to support Thought Leadership pieces).

About you

• Knowledge and understanding of RL’s protection products/propositions, the financial services industry including the best advice systems and portals.
• Detailed understanding of the protection legislative framework – icob/cob rules, and ongoing regulatory framework updates.
• Excellent attention to detail to identify, articulate and communicate the key conclusions from regulatory developments or updates, industry and market developments, analysis, and research.
• A thirst for knowledge, understanding and continuous professional development and a passion for creating business change and proposition development through inferences from evidence-based analysis.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision but can work well with others.
