We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Accounting Manager to join our dynamic Investment Reporting team in our Alderley Edge office.  

 

The Investment Reporting team are responsible for the delivery of investment asset operations, reporting and controls, investment valuations and oversight of third parties on behalf of the Group (including over the Group’s investment custodian HSBC).

 

As manager of the team, you will ensure that all investment activities are accurately recorded, analysed, and reported in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including investment managers, third party providers and senior leadership, to provide timely and accurate investment data that supports strategic decision-making and external reporting. Your ability to understand, challenge and communicate complex financial information in an accessible manner will be essential in fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting the Investment Reporting team.

The role will require occasional travel between Alderley Park, Edinburgh, London, and other third-party sites.

 

About the role

 

  • Responsible for Investment Reporting team delivery of complex investment asset data tasks within monthly and quarterly reporting, providing effective delegation, review and coaching to other team members.
  • Share subject-matter expertise of complex investment processes, asset valuations (across hard-to-value assets including property, derivatives, and private assets), statutory and regulatory reporting for investments.
  • Lead regular interactions across senior leadership and key internal and external stakeholders, providing support, insight and challenge over a wide variety of investment-related activities.
  • Responsible for managing the oversight of third-party investment outsourced service providers.
  • Support and provide subject-matter investment reporting expertise on key strategic Group projects.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the investment control environment, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of investment asset data and maintaining the general ledger.

 

About you

 

  • Experience in people management (direct reports up to 5 people).
  • Experience in financial services and investments (including valuation judgements) is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and can be relied upon to represent Group Finance in both internal and external meetings, guiding effective decision making and compliance with best practice.
  • Be proactive and decisive, showing initiative in driving improvement, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of investment reporting and accounting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS), acting as a key point of contact for other teams.
  • Have a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
