We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Release Manager to join our growing and exciting team in the Insurance industry. As a Release Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and co-ordinating the release of software and applications. You will collaborate and work cross functionally, with various teams to ensure successful planning, testing, and deployment of software releases. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking and reporting on release progress and managing any issues that may arise.

 

We are looking for candidates who have, strong communication and problem-solving skills, as you will work closely with developers, testers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software releases. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong technical background working within a ITIL framework, as well as experience working withing within a DevOps environment. You will have an analytical mind-set with great attention to detail, as you will work across various platforms and projects. This is team is growing and we are looking for professionals, who are interested in development opportunities within the department. This role contributes to our purpose strengthening the mutual choice for customers.

 

About the role

 

  • You will contribute to all aspects of the end-to-end release process.
  • Supporting the release planning activity including scope, method and timing of release.
  • Follows a structured approach for modern release management including procedures and workflows aligned to DevOps and other delivery methods.
  • Ensures appropriate automation exists for deployment of system changes to controlled environments. As well as maintain a current configuration repository for all environments including the supporting documentation.
  • Forms good working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders – developers, application and infrastructure specialists, project delivery, internal change board(s) and service managers.
  • Ensures ITIL Release and Configuration Management principles and processes are followed to ensure that service levels, targets, productivity and quality measures are achieved.

 

About you

 

  • You will have practical experience managing software releases into multiple environments. As well as practical knowledge of ITIL Service Delivery best practice.
  • You will have strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration and effective engagement with stakeholders within RL and external third parties.
  • Ability to manage risks, issues and dependencies in order to negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
  • You will have working knowledge and understanding of full software development lifecycle. As well as knowledge and understanding of different delivery methodologies and their impact on release.
  • In addition, knowledge and understanding of source code management and configuration tools.
