As a member of the Regional Distribution Leadership team you will lead, motivate, and develop a high performing team of Business Development Managers across Yorkshire and North East region of England.

 

You will be responsible for delivering against the Distribution strategy, harnessing strong relationships with financial advisers across the region in order to drive sustainable growth through the distribution of Royal London’s propositions and services.

 

About the role

 

  • Develop and deliver a strategic plan for the region to ensure the team achieves new business growth and retention targets on all products, broadening and deepening our reach with UK financial advisers. Develop and promote dynamic sales strategies and initiatives designed to deliver against agreed objectives and targets.
  • Work within the Group Risk Framework, Risk Appetite and Accountabilities and ensure these are met.
  • Apply a solid commercial understanding and what is required to drive profitable new business acquisition and retention of existing customers and relationships.
  • Inspire your team through enterprise leadership, providing coaching, support and counsel, delivering required training to meet individual needs.
  • Act as a senior sponsor to key external relationships with intermediary partners.

 

About you

 

  • Demonstrable experience working in, and an excellent understanding of, the Pensions and Investment market.
  • Have achieved or progressing towards Level 4
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with a track record of being able to influence key stakeholders. 
  • Proven track record in sales leadership either in the product provider or financial advice sector (ideally with experience of managing remotely)
  • Track record of creating an environment that allows colleagues to flourish, promoting high levels of engagement and a fantastic team culture.
  • Excellent planning and self-management capability.
  • Full driving license as the role requires regular travel to external meetings
  • Excellent knowledge of industry standards, the regulatory landscape and best practice.
