A guide to getting started in your new role

Make your workplace, yours.

We’re proud to call England, Scotland and Ireland our home.

On your first day, you’ll be introduced to your workspace. We work across seven key locations in London, Alderley Park, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin and Plymouth. And each offers a modern, accessible, welcoming and supportive workspace.

Your new workspace

You’ll have access to a locker to store your personal belongings. Feel free to bring things with you to make your workspace your own like a cup and water bottle (supporting our sustainability goals too), or a framed photo of your loved ones. We only ask that you clear your desk at the end of the day and store personal belongings in your locker.

It's everyone's business

Visit jobs.royallondon.com to remind yourself about our different businesses and business areas – including the one you’ll be joining.

You’ll find out information like where the nearest train station is and where to park if you’re driving. Your People Leader will ask how you’ll be commuting to work, especially on your first day, so they can make sure you can access parking if you need it.

Dress to be your best

We don’t have a formal dress code. Use your own judgement in deciding what’s appropriate for you, your role, what makes you perform best at work and take our customers' expectations into account, if you deal with them face to face. If you’re not sure, ask your new People Leader.

Your time in the office

Most of us work in a hybrid way, coming into the office for 50% of our time. This is typically two to three days on average in the office each week (pro-rated if you’re part-time).

Our People Promise has been at the heart of our approach to hybrid working, supporting our culture of collaboration and inclusion while allowing our colleagues to work from home and continue to benefit from the flexibility this brings.
