Empowering development at Royal London

Meet Katie who works in our Workplace Estates team, supporting project delivery, change and improvements to our workspaces here at Royal London.

Katie’s pursued an Association of Project Managers level four project manager qualification.

“When I learned about the apprenticeship, I decided to go for it with my People Leader's support as it seemed like a great opportunity for growth.”

Katie studied online through engaging webinars with plenty of opportunities for questions.

“I appreciated its relevance to my job, as I was applying what I was learning to a large project, which enhanced my understanding.”

“Take the opportunity; having employer support for your learning is invaluable. An apprenticeship relevant to your work improves skills, offers practical experience and can lead to future opportunities. It’s challenging, but stepping out of your comfort zone is beneficial.”

- Katie

By her own admission, Katie found the functional skills component tough, having to retake English to meet the requirements. Supported by Royal London, Katie was able to do this and meet the requirements for the apprenticeship.

Katie dedicated a full day a week to study, supported by her People Leader.
