We are looking for a talented Actuary to support our Longevity Reinsurance team, working within Royal London’s Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) and Longevity Risk function.

This Actuarial Analyst / Actuary role in Longevity Reinsurance has arisen due to the planned growth of our BPA business and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to longevity risk management, reinsurance structures and pension de‑risking solutions. You will play a key role in supporting Royal London’s long‑term financial strength while helping insurers and pension schemes manage longevity risk.

About the Role

As an Actuary in Longevity Reinsurance, you will:

  • Support the administration and ongoing management of longevity reinsurance treaties, including longevity swaps, as part of a wider Longevity Risk team
  • Assist with the implementation, onboarding and monitoring of new longevity reinsurance transactions
  • Analyse mortality and longevity experience data to support pricing, risk assessment and business decision‑making
  • Provide actuarial insights and technical advice to internal stakeholders across BPA, Risk and Capital teams
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks and internal actuarial standards
  • Contribute to Royal London’s BPA and longevity reinsurance growth strategy

 

About You

To be successful in this Longevity Reinsurance Actuary role, you will be:

  • A Newly or Nearly Qualified Actuary (IFoA or equivalent) with experience in longevity reinsurance, BPA, pensions, or life insurance
  • Experienced in longevity modelling, actuarial analysis or mortality experience investigations
  • Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving and data interpretation skills
  • Confident communicating actuarial concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Able to manage complex actuarial projects in a collaborative, hybrid working environment
  • Motivated by working in financial services, insurance, pensions and reinsurance, with a desire to make a positive impact
