We’re recruiting a Finance Accountant to join our Group Finance Systems Data team. This role plays a key part in supporting and enhancing non‑Oracle finance systems, combining strong technical accounting expertise with analytical insight and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll work closely with Group Finance, technology teams and third‑party partners to support business‑as‑usual activity, contribute to change initiatives and help improve financial processes and controls. It’s a great opportunity to influence how finance systems operate across Royal London while developing your technical and commercial capability.
About the role
- Provide financial and analytical insight to support decision‑making across Group Finance and the wider business.
- Deliver high‑quality analysis and review of key financial data to create financial value and effective outcomes.
- Act as a subject matter expert for non‑Oracle finance systems, supporting BAU activity, change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Finance, Technology and external partners to understand requirements, challenge assumptions and deliver solutions.
- Identify and lead improvements to finance processes, controls and system efficiency.
- Support risk and control activities including control self‑assessments, ensuring issues are identified, evidenced and escalated where appropriate.
- Provide guidance, coaching and knowledge‑sharing support to colleagues within the team.
About you
- Qualified accountant or qualified by experience, with a strong track record in a similar finance or systems‑focused role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear insights.
- Experience working with finance systems, data processes and process improvement initiatives.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders, including senior finance colleagues.
- Well organised, self‑motivated and able to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines.
- Proactive and forward‑thinking, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision while contributing positively as part of a collaborative team.
