Job Title: Financial Reporting Accountant

Contract Type: 14 month FTC

Location: Alderley Park    

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Accountant to join Royal London, in this role you will be responsible for the provision of financial reporting services for the Group, Board and Committee reporting, Press Release reporting, and other ad hoc reporting requirements.

This role supports the production of the UK GAAP consolidation on a monthly basis, working with stakeholders across Finance to ensure it meets all external standards and is produced on time.

You will collaborate with the Board and Audit Committee members to help understand financial results and support effective decision making, ultimately contributing to building the financial resilience of the Group.

In joining the Financial & Regulatory Reporting team, you will become part of a team of technically skilled and experienced accountants, developing your financial reporting skillset in a challenging and dynamic environment

What you will be doing:

• Support the production of the UK GAAP consolidation on a monthly basis.
• Understand and challenge the reported results to articulate a clear story in all aspects of reporting.
• Prepare committee reports to Audit Committee and Board.
• Prepare subsidiary statutory accounts.
• Support the Head of Financial & Regulatory Reporting in improving the control environment.

About You:

• Qualified accountant with financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge and experience of UK GAAP and/or IFRS for insurance entities.
• Significant experience of preparing and/or auditing financial statements.
• Good understanding of insurance accounting principles, systems and procedures.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong report writing skills, tailored to different audiences.
