Role purpose
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Team Manager and operating within an IT Shared Services model you will be responsible for providing technical administration support for all Hardware and Software across the group. Working within a busy fast paced support environment this position will suit someone who has a good grounding within Wintel Support who is looking to move into project work.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure systems are managed to the satisfaction of the business, managing incidents and service requests within SLA, reviewing breached calls and providing support out of hours
- Ensure VC equipment is available, providing support.
- Ensure hardware and software is kept within supported levels
- Document recovery procedures, build procedures, procedures and fix knowledge base
- Support the strategy and follow industry best practice, wherever possible
- Identify opportunities for improvement in services and create appropriate utilities to manage the environment
- Support managed Disaster Recovery tests and develop or maintain procedures to ensure that systems can be recovered in the event of a disaster
- Work with the Project Manager to agree timescales for deliverables and manage the change process.
Essential Criteria
- Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft technologies
- Good understanding of VMware
- Strong working knowledge of End user computing
- Experience in Project work
- Experience supporting Windows Servers
- Strong understanding of VC technologies like Polycom, cisco and teams
- Good understanding of the automation of systems and processes
- Strong change enablement skills
- Strong Problem Management
Desirable Criteria
- Microsoft accreditations highly beneficial
- Office 365 experience would be highly advantageous
- Awareness of networking qualification fundamentals is desirable
