We’re seeking a proven leader to architect Royal London’s strategic resource plan across our Chief Operating Office (COO). You will establish and lead the Resource Management & Planning capability, partner with key suppliers, and present robust, data‑driven packs and plans to C‑suite stakeholders. This role operates in ambiguity and rewards decisive, credible leadership—shaping our strategy while developing a long‑term, enterprise workforce plan. Prior exposure to legacy‑system migration will be advantageous
About the role:
- Lead the development and implementation of workforce plans and recruitment strategies across the Chief Operating Office (COO).
- Provide guidance and support for strategic workforce planning and annual budgeting processes.
- Oversee resource planning and management, including permanent staff and third-party vendors
- Manage onboarding/offboarding, and ensure resources are aligned with organisational needs.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Resource management and planners
- Foster a high-performance culture and ensure effective people management and talent development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, the recruitment team, Finance and external partners.
- Ensure workforce planning processes are unified and effective across all COO functions.
- Establish and report on recruitment and workforce data to inform decision-making
- Monitor diversity and inclusion metrics and ensure compliance with governance and risk management frameworks
About you
- Proven experience leading workforce planning and resource management, ideally across technology and change functions.
- Experience of workforce planning in AGILE teams
- Strong understanding of operating models, P&L, and financial awareness, with the ability to track and monitor project benefits.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams, fostering engagement and talent development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a track record of building effective relationships at all levels.
- Highly proficient in workforce management and business intelligence tools, with experience in complex reporting and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills, with a history of delivering projects to tight deadlines.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and optimising onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance, with the ability to identify, monitor, and report on risks and controls.
