Category Buyer

Contract type: Fixed Term

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

 

We’re looking for a Category Buyer to join our Group Procurement team at Royal London on a 12-month basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their procurement career to develop their expertise across a wide range of categories, supporting sourcing activity and delivering commercial value across the business.

You’ll play a key role in supporting procurement projects, working closely with stakeholders across Royal London Group and Royal London Asset Management to ensure effective supplier management and cost optimisation. With a structured development plan in place, this role offers a great progression path to further your career in Procurement.

 

 

About the role

  • Support end-to-end procurement activity including tendering, supplier selection and contract negotiation.
  • Lead low to medium spend and risk procurement projects under guidance, delivering cost savings and commercial value.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Produce and present spend analysis reports.
  • Support category strategies through market research.
  • Assist with supplier due diligence and work with procurement systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
