As an Actuarial Technician within our Pensions Commercial team, you’ll work closely with our Distribution teams, support key pricing decisions, and help to shape the future of our products and services.
You’ll work on a variety of projects, from bespoke pricing to trading performance insight and play a vital role in ensuring our processes and models are robust and future-ready.

About the role
- Undertake technical analysis using standard actuarial and analytical techniques, performing reasonableness checks and documenting work clearly.
- Contribute to business-as-usual outputs such as trading performance insight, Distribution pricing support and supporting retention of existing business.
- Challenge and make improvements and efficiencies to processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Maintain and test systems and processes (e.g., spreadsheets, modelling tools), providing feedback and suggesting improvements.
- Support projects with analysis, clear progress communication, and well-reasoned challenges to improve delivery and outcomes.
- Uphold actuarial controls: identify and escalate risks, ensure data accuracy, and help correct errors to ensure fair treatment of customers.
About you
- Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, supporting colleagues and contributing positively to group objectives.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a critical approach to reviewing both your own and others’ work, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Possess excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening abilities, enabling clear and constructive feedback.
- Highly numerate with good problem-solving skills, applying analytical techniques to deliver robust results.
