We are recruiting a Head of Investment Proposition Development to join our Investment Solutions team within the UK Adviser & Customer function.

This is a senior leadership role with accountability for shaping and owning Royal London’s unit‑linked investment propositions, ensuring they deliver strong customer outcomes and long‑term value across our UK savings products.

You’ll lead a specialist proposition team and set the strategic direction for investment proposition development to support the wider strategy of the Workplace and Advisory channels. Working across Royal London and Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) to influence product evolution, respond to market and regulatory change, and maintain robust governance.

Acting as a trusted voice at senior forums, you’ll play a key role in representing and championing Royal London’s investment propositions with advisers, partners and the wider market.

About the role

• Lead and develop the Investment Proposition Development team, ensuring the capability and capacity to deliver strategic priorities
• Own the design, evolution and governance of unit‑linked investment propositions, including value for money and customer outcomes
• Align the investment proposition strategy to the wider group strategy, set priorities and sponsor proposition development and change activity
• Influence product and service evolution through strong senior stakeholder collaboration across Royal London, RLAM and the wider business
• Represent investment propositions at governance forums, providing clear insight and expert judgement
• Maintain propositions through market insight, competitor analysis and proactive response to regulatory change
• Own and manage proposition‑level risks, embedding strong risk management and control frameworks
• Act as a senior ambassador for Royal London’s investment propositions internally and externally

About you

• Significant experience within a UK life and pensions environment, with deep investment proposition expertise, and a track record of investment proposition delivery
• Proven senior leadership experience, leading and developing high‑performing specialist teams
• Strong understanding of regulated investment products, governance and risk management
• Confident operating at executive and committee level, with excellent influencing and communication skills
• Commercially astute and customer‑focused, able to balance innovation with control
• Able to translate complex investment concepts into clear, compelling messages
• Experience of investment platforms and de‑risking solutions is desirable
• Interest in ESG and responsible investment considerations is desirable
