Job Title: Product Owner – Outcome Monitoring
Contract Type: 8-months FTC
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow or Alderley Park
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based
Closing date: 4th May 2026
We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner to join the Customer Outcomes and Insight team within the CEO Office at Royal London.
This role is critical to how we evidence, monitor and improve customer outcomes in line with Consumer Duty and regulatory expectations.
You’ll own and evolve our Outcome Monitoring product, the data, tooling and processes that enable the business to identify risks of harm, evidence good outcomes, and respond confidently to regulatory scrutiny.
This is a key role at the intersection of regulation, data, insight and delivery, helping us operate in a way that is robust, efficient and scalable.
About the role
- Own and articulate a clear product vision for outcome monitoring that aligns with Consumer Duty, customer outcomes and Royal London’s strategy
- Lead the evolution of outcome monitoring data, tooling and processes to ensure they are scalable, efficient and auditable
- Translate regulatory expectations and supervisory feedback into clear product capabilities and delivery priorities
- Balance regulatory robustness with usability, automation and operational efficiency
- Act as the single point of accountability for the outcome monitoring product across the organisation
- Own and prioritise the product roadmap and backlog, making day‑to‑day trade‑offs between regulatory risk, customer harm, manual effort and delivery capacity
- Work closely with delivery teams through sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives to ensure high‑quality outcomes
- Use data and insight to drive prioritisation, measure success and support continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, ensuring clear decision‑making and shared understanding of trade‑offs
About you
- Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar role), ideally within a regulated or risk‑focused environment
- Strong understanding of consumer outcomes, regulatory expectations and outcome monitoring principles
- Experience translating complex regulatory or business requirements into clear, deliverable product changes
- Confident working in agile environments, with experience owning roadmaps, backlogs and delivery milestones
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data and insight to guide decisions and prioritisation
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery and detail
- A collaborative, pragmatic mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
This is more than a delivery role, it’s an opportunity to shape how Royal London evidences and improves customer outcomes, and to play a key role in building a low‑risk, efficient and insight‑led organisation.
