Job Title: Senior Digital Content Designer 
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract - 12 months 
Location:  Edinburgh, or Alderley Edge, or London 
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based 
Closing date: 29th March 2026
  
We’re looking for a passionate and strategic Senior Digital Content Designer to join our Digital Marketing team within Brand & Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how Royal London shows up for customers across our digital channels. 
 
You’ll play a key role in designing customer centred digital content, improving journeys, and shaping digital experiences. If you’re driven by insight, motivated by problem solving, and energised by collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact. 
 
About the role 
•    Owning content design on key initiatives, shaping clear and connected digital journeys. 
•    Use insight, data, user research, and testing to inform content decisions and influence best practice across the organisation. 
•    Collaborate within multidisciplinary agile teams including, Product Owners, Developers, Testers, SEO Managers, Copywriters and Marketing colleagues. 
•    Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills across marketing and product content. 
•    Bring clarity to complex problems and deliver clear, accessible, and on-brand content for both users and SEO across the websites. 
•    Collaborate with UX designers to conduct user research, test content and hypothesis, and iterate on solutions based on data and feedback. 
•    Participate in content and design reviews, providing clear rationale for your design choices. 
•    Support the development of digital content standards, templates, models, and practices that contribute to Royal London’s digital transformation journey. Advocate for the value of content design and provide content consultancy, to help elevate content quality and capability across the business. 
•    Contribute to the application and circulation of content design guidelines. 
 
About you
 •    Experience in content design or UX writing with a strong background in creating content for digital products. 
•    Own a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create clear, user-focused content and demonstrating the impact on user experience and business goals. 
•    Strong knowledge of GDS-style user centred content design practices. 
•    Understanding of UX principles, information architecture, and user-centred design methodologies 
•    Proven experience working with UX design and design systems. 
•    Skilled in mapping user journeys, writing user stories and designing structured, accessible content. Confident applying insights from analytics, user feedback, and research to shape recommendations and improvements. 
•    A collaborative communicator with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. 
•    Creative, proactive and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. 
•    Experience working with CMS platforms, content modelling, SEO/web optimisation, and usability principles. 
•    Comfortable working in agile environments and contributing to continuous improvement.
