We’re recruiting a Senior Risk Manager to join our Group Risk & Compliance function. This is a high-profile role where you’ll provide independent second-line oversight across Group Functions, supporting senior leaders to strengthen risk management, governance and control frameworks across Royal London.
You’ll play a key role in embedding a consistent, forward-looking approach to risk management, influencing senior stakeholders and leading oversight reviews that help protect our members and support delivery of the Group’s strategy and purpose.
About the role
- Provide independent second-line oversight and challenge across Group Functions, working closely with senior leaders.
- Lead risk oversight reviews and investigations, producing clear, high-quality reporting for senior management and risk committees.
- Support the Risk Director and Head of Risk in embedding and evolving the Group Risk Management System.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide risk activity such as ORSA/SCR exercises, scenario analysis and governance enhancements.
- Act as a trusted adviser on risk, governance and control matters, helping to improve risk culture and decision-making.
- Ensure comprehensive risk oversight for critical strategic initiatives.
About you
- Significant experience working in an operational or enterprise risk environment within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, including second-line oversight and the three lines of defence.
- Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders.
- Confident producing and presenting risk reports to senior leadership and committees.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify key risks, draw clear conclusions and recommend pragmatic actions.
- A collaborative leader who role-models Royal London’s values and builds strong relationships across the business.
