Job Title: BPA Senior Data and Technical Manager

Contract Type: Permanent  

Location: London or Alderley Park       

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Are you ready to join in the growth of Royal London’s Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) business? We’re seeking a BPA Senior Data and Technical Manager to join our dynamic BPA Operations team. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact team, drive operational excellence, and shape the future of our annuities offering. You’ll work on complex, high-value projects, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and help deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients and members

 

 

About the role

  • Help to lead and manage the BPA Data and Technical team, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction.
  • Oversee the processing and onboarding of member data, ensuring robust controls and high standards of quality and timeliness.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for technical and operational issues, influencing decisions across BPA Operations.
  • Oversee the configuration and testing of benefit calculations and individual member documentation.
  • Champion data governance, acting as Data Steward and ensuring compliance with the Group Data Governance Framework.
  • Support new business by assessing data quality, benefit specifications, and identifying risks in complex transactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the production and analysis of management information, reports, and operational data feeds
  • Data cleanse and cashflow true up – oversight and sign off data cleanse materials.

 

About you

  • Proven experience leading large-scale operational teams or projects with significant business impact.
  • Strong DB pensions expertise, ideally with experience in BPAs and defined benefit pensions administration.
  • Skilled in data migration, configuration of bespoke calculations, and data quality testing.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in Excel and/or SQL, with a credible financial services background.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Confident working autonomously and taking accountability for high-quality delivery.
