Business Analyst (RLAM)

Contract type: Permanent
Location: London
Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We are currently looking for a Data Business Analyst to join Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) on a permanent basis in London.

The role will form part of the Client Group Data squad, delivering on strategic initiatives in partnership with Client Group, Data Management and Technology teams.

This is an exciting time to join RLAM as we continue to grow our client base and further broaden our asset classes to ensure we are delivering the best outcomes for our customers.

You will have high exposure and interaction with our senior stakeholders to deliver change and maintain efficiencies.

About the role

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and validate data requirements, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Gathering, understand and document detailed requirements using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Solution design for data projects or programmes of change, paying particular focus to people, process, technology, risks, and controls.
  • Engagement, reviews and testing with developers, testers, architects and business users.
  • Pro-active resolution of issues, designing solutions and presenting recommendations to senior business stakeholders.
  • Understanding data models, both normalised and de-normalised to work across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Part of a scrum team, working to agile methodologies and closely with stakeholders within client group, central data teams and technology.
  • Strong understanding and experience working with analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Sigma, understanding the end-to-end data design and user experience.

About you

  • A background in the asset management industry is advantageous but not essential; you should be a motivated individual keen to master Asset Management lifecycles and collaborate with business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work with change management processes and operating models within an agile environment.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and both relational and non-relational databases, including strong SQL skills for querying and analysis.
  • Track record of partnering with third-party vendors and clients to utilise, provide, transform, and report on data effectively.
  • Capability to interpret and adapt business requirements from diverse internal stakeholders into value-driven deliverables such as user stories.
  • Collaborative experience with architects, data management, and data governance teams to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Competence in testing various components of product or solution design and implementing operating models.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data solutions for non-technical business stakeholders.
