Royal London Asset Management is looking for an experienced Fund Operations Team Leader to play a key role within our unitised dealing function. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll combine strong technical expertise in collective investment scheme dealing with day‑to‑day oversight of a high‑performing team.
You’ll lead and coordinate BAU activity across the funds dealing lifecycle, ensuring daily tasks, controls and cut‑offs are met, while also being confident enough to step in as a senior escalation point and trusted stakeholder across the business. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to strategic change initiatives, including fund launches, platform transitions and wider transformation projects, with opportunities to deputise for the Head of Desk and be visible to senior leadership.
This role would suit someone with a solid asset management or closely related background who enjoys being a “doer” as well as a leader, has a strong grasp of end‑to‑end fund dealing and box management concepts, and is keen to take the next step in their leadership journey within a collaborative, forward‑looking investment environment.
About the role
- Lead the team and responsibilities for all day-to-day BAU tasks
- Ensuring all collective fund dealing either in Royal London funds or external funds are processed on a timely and accurate basis in line with the defined policy framework and valuation point dealing deadlines
- Ensure Unit Linked Box Management is completed within prescribed timelines inclusive of settlement of cash flows
- Production of monthly Management Information
- Day-to-day service oversight of Third Party Transfer Agencies
- Liaison with counterparties through various internal and external distribution channels as part of the dealing process (this includes third party administrators and outsourced partners)
About you
- Significant experience within an asset management company within a unit dealing function
- Understands Box Management processes
- Full e2e understanding of Collective fund trading life cycles and investment management processes from dealing through to settlement
- Experience interacting with multiple departments and individuals
- Experience in leading and coordinating a team in terms of BAU and project-based deliverables
- Has a clear understanding of risk and controls framework and how they impact day to day processes
- MS Office Excel and Word to a high standard. Macro, SQL knowledge and MS Power Apps a benefit
- Experience in using Aladdin (Blackrock) a benefit
- Strong numerical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong attention to detail and numerate with a methodical approach to problem solving
